Pothole Patch Products

Pothole patch products are the materials crews reach for when a void appears in an asphalt surface. The choice is between a temporary patch — a stop-gap that gets re-done in months — and a permanent patch that becomes integrated structural pavement and lasts as long as the surface around it.

Road Solutions AUS manufactures permanent pothole patch products built for Australian conditions: polymer-modified cold-mix asphalt that bonds on impact, applies in any weather, and is trafficable immediately after compaction.

Permanent vs temporary patch products

Temporary patch products use simple bitumen emulsion binders that set by evaporation. They're cheap per bag but ravel out within a season under traffic and weather. Permanent patch products use polymer-modified binders that activate under compaction and chemically bond to the surrounding pavement.

Over the asset's life, one permanent patch beats five to ten temporary ones on cost and on traffic disruption.

The Road Solutions AUS patch range

Four cold-mix gauges plus a rubberised crack filler cover every patch scenario.

  • 5 Gauge Mix — fine patch for footpaths and driveways
  • 7 Gauge Mix — general-purpose patch, most-used grade
  • 10 Gauge Mix — heavy-duty patch for highways and freight
  • 14 Gauge Mix — deep-fill patch for big voids
  • Rubberised Crack Filler — preventative seal before cracks become patches

How a permanent patch actually bonds

Compaction triggers the polymer binder, which grips the aggregate and bonds the patch matrix to the void walls. The patch becomes integrated pavement rather than a plug sitting in a hole. That bond is what the replace-if-it-fails warranty backs.

Common patch applications

Road potholes, car park dips, footpath voids, edge breaks, utility-cut reinstatements, trench repairs, post-storm failures and washouts. Same product, same application sequence, regardless of the underlying cause of the void.
