Asphalt in a Bag is polymer-modified cold mix asphalt — washed, graded aggregate coated with a polymer-modified bitumen binder, packaged in a sealed plastic-lined bag. Each bag contains 20 kg of material, enough to fill roughly 0.2 m² of pothole at 50 mm depth.
Why it exists
Traditional pothole repair requires hot mix asphalt — produced at 150 °C, delivered in insulated trucks, laid with a paver. None of that works for a single pothole, in a remote location, in the rain, with one person on site. Asphalt in a Bag was developed to make every one of those repairs a 15-minute job.
